Winter Birding Walk with Doug Bloom

Come join expert birder Doug Bloom as we look and listen for our winter birds. Binoculars are helpful but not required.

Doug is a former president of the Bronx River Sound Shore Audubon Society and its current vice president.  He is a lifelong birder, the current birding field trip leader at the Audubon Society, and all-around nature and birding enthusiast.

This program is FREE, thanks to the generous support of Con Edison.

Advance registration is required. A separate form must be submitted for each member of your party, regardless of age.

In accordance with COVID safety requirements, group size will be limited to a total of 10 (including the leader). Each participant must register separately, regardless of age, to allow for collection of contact information in the event contact tracing should be needed. All participants are required to wear a mask, as well as to sign a waiver and complete a brief health-assessment survey. Attendance is limited. We thank you for your cooperation with these safeguards.

Guided Community Nature Walk

Come celebrate the new year with a winter walk at Sheldrake.  Not everyone has migrated or is hibernating.  See who is hanging around and look for signs of mid-winter life.

We are almost at the shortest day of the year. Nature might seem quieter this time of year, but there is plenty of activity. Let’s head out onto the trails and explore some of the remarkable ways our wild neighbors have adapted to the conditions.
