Sheldrake thrives because of volunteers who help to preserve our 60 acres of green space and help Sheldrake run. Volunteers are usually needed for 1.5-2 hours, and experience is not required.

Like to work outdoors? Become part of our Meadow Restoration Crew, or Trail Maintenance Corps. We meet seasonally to pull invasive plants from our meadow, as well as to repair and maintain our trail network at the conservancy.

Looking for a consistent and meaningful outdoor commitment? Join us at the Sheldrake Raised Bed Gardens as we grow produce to donate to the food insecure. We need planters, weeders, waterers, trellis makers, harvesters and more.

Help keep our habitats healthy by removing litter throughout the preserve, trash from Larchmont Reservoir, and assisting staff with other restoration projects.

Want a consistent indoor project? Become a Shepherd to our Potting Shed (the little building adjacent to the garden) organizing teaching materials and keeping the bird feeders filled.

Or help us in the office as a Publicity and Public Relations Volunteer. We always need volunteers who are willing to assist with a variety of tasks that will help publicize upcoming programs & events. If you have experience in marketing, communications or public relations we need your talents!

Fundraising is another area where you can help. Work with our Board of Directors on fundraising events including the selection and solicitation of honorees; solicitation of support: sponsorships, auction, ad journal, tickets; publicity, location and agenda for the event.

And, by all means, please continue to come to our Cleanups!

We welcome service groups from scout troops, schools, universities, houses of worship and private companies.

There’s plenty of work to go around!
