SHELDRAKE ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS INFORMATION
Field Trips
School field trips at Sheldrake Environmental Center are led by trained Environmental Educators and emphasize explorations, hands-on activities and inquiry-based learning methods. All programs relate to ecology concepts and are coordinated with curriculum objectives and National Science Education Standards. Complete details are available in the School Program Brochure.
School programs are offered throughout the school year, are one to one and one-half hours in length, Monday through Friday, with classes beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Pre-Trips
Because we believe that a field trip is immensely enriched by an introductory session, we provide a classroom pre-trip prior to each field trip. Concepts are taught by a trained Environmental Educator through age-appropriate hands-on activities.
Cost
The field trip fee (which includes the pre-trip) is $120. This fee is waived for the Mamaroneck Public School District.
