New year, new experience! Bring your family into the woods to notice nature, savor the outdoors, and connect with each other and community. Look for signs of animal tracks. Hear the sounds of the wind, the over-wintering birds, and the flowing (or not-flowing) water. Feel the rough bark, the crunch of leaves underfoot, and the cold air around you. Calling all fans of Anna, Elsa, Sven, and Olaf! Remember the scene in Frozen that shows ice being harvested? The Sheldrake pond used to be used for this purpose, in the days before refrigeration. Join us for Frozen-themed fun this February, as we learn about ice harvesting and visit the old horse stalls. Children ages 3-5 search for signs of animal life, learn how animals and plants survive the cold, and may become snow detectives!
