Sheldrake Environmental Center is a membership organization. We rely on the contributions of our members to support our environmental education, stewardship and advocacy activities. While most of our members are local residents who participate in programs and enjoy the Conservancy grounds, we have members living in many of the eastern states.
Members receive Sheldrake’s seasonal newsletters and calendars. Members are entitled to discounts when they attend our programs and at participating local merchants. These merchants include Larchmont, Tony’s and Redwood nurseries. There are currently eight levels of annual membership contributions:

Each year the Sheldrake membership is invited to attend the Annual Membership Meeting. At the Annual Meeting, the membership elects a class of Directors to serve on the Board of Directors for a three year term and hears presentations from Sheldrake staff members.
Corporate Matching Funds
Many companies match their employee’s donation to registered non-profit/501(c)3 organizations such as Sheldrake. If your employer matches donations, please do let us know. This is an easy way to double the impact of your contribution. Currently, we receive matching funds from IBM, Pfizer and Unilever but have a sense that more members work for companies that match but are not taking advantage of this wonderful benefit. Many companies also match donations made by retirees. If you are unsure whether your company matches, please contact your Human Resource Department.

You have supported Sheldrake Environmental Center during your lifetime. You believe in our mission and understand that we will continue to make a positive difference in our community far into the future. How can you provide for our future support?
Include a charitable bequest in your will or revocable trust. You can remember Sheldrake by using the following language: "I bequeath to Sheldrake Environmental Center, Inc. a not-for-profit corporation located at 685 Weaver Street, Larchmont, NY 10538, ___% of my residuary estate (or $___) for its general purposes.”
A bequest is easy to arrange. It is not payable until death, so it does not affect your assets or cash flow during your lifetime. It is private – your will is not filed or made public until your death. It is revocable – you can change the provisions in your will or trust at any time until death. If you have decided to include Sheldrake in your will, please let us know so that we can thank you properly!
